  • Q: Will UNITAR-NY provide funding for participants?
    A: We regret that we are not able to provide financial support to participants at this time.

  • Q: Is there a registration fee for the Global Forum?
    A: Registration for the event is free.

  • Q: Is there a selection process for participants?
    A: Yes. Participants are chosen based upon the number of seats available after all UN Permanent Mission requests have been accommodated.  However, in most cases, space is available.

  • Q: If I cannot attend the event in person can I access the webcast?
    A: Yes! The event will be webcast live on the day of the event and can be accessed on the day of the event from a link on our website.  You may also send in questions to a posted email that may be addressed during discussion periods.

  • Q: What if I cannot watch the event live?
    A: We archive the recorded webcast and post it on our site.  It is available anytime after the event for download.

  • Q: Does UNITAR provide any material or resources to read prior to the event?
    A: A resources page can be found on our site (here) and contains information on a variety of topics to be introduced and expanded on during the course of the event.

  • Q: How can I connect with other youth interested in the event?
    A: We have a Facebook page setup (here) which includes an active discussion forum.

Attending the event onsite: 

  • Q: Does UNITAR provide assistance with accommodations in the New York area?
    A: Individuals will be responsible for making their own reservations at the lodging of their choice. For participants who are sponsored by organizations and agencies, the sponsors will be responsible for making all necessary arrangements, including hotel accommodation. UNITAR can provide a list of popular area hotels upon request.

  • Q: Do I need a security pass to attend the event?
    A: Yes.  All participants who receive confirmations of attendance will be provided with security pass instructions and necessary paperwork. You cannot enter the event without a security pass.

  • Q: How can I amend/update the registration form to reflect changes in my contact information?
    A: You may update your registered information by re-filling the registration form. Please note in the “how you heard about us” section that you are submitting updated information.
