Objectives
The purpose of the special briefing, which is complementary to the general briefing for new delegates on the work of the General Assembly, is to familiarize the participants with the work and procedures of the Second, Third and Fifth Committee. 

Organizations
Participants will be provided with an overview of the work of the Committee and of the major issues before them.

Participants
The briefing is primarily designed for those delegates who are attending meetings of the Second, Third and Fifth Committee for the first time. The registered candidates are requested to regard their participation as a firm commitment.

Recource persons
The briefing, conducted by Mr. Jean Gazarian, UNITAR Senior Fellow, will be given by experienced diplomats and members of the Secretariat.

Working languages
Interpretation will be provided, to the extent possible, in the official languages of the General Assembly.
